Judith Tomioka
My name is Judith Tomioka. I am a retired primary school teacher with a B.Ed Hons degree in Early years. I spent more than 30 years in the classroom, teaching in London, across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. I have always been passionate about giving all children the opportunities to explore and develop their interests and dreams, encouraging them to achieve their potential.
I value the important relationships between home and school and throughout my career ran sessions in supporting parents and carers with practical ideas of activities and learning opportunities which can be done out of the classroom.

Karen Lazarus
Hello, I'm Karen. I have a Bachelor of Education from Liverpool Hope University College. I have been a primary school class teacher and also an intervention teacher working with small groups, helping them to improve their English and Maths skills.
I have also tutored children in English and Maths on a 1 to 1 basis in their homes. I really enjoy teaching especially in small groups or 1 to 1 settings and helping children to grow in confidence and overcome their struggles in different areas of the primary curriculum.

Nikheil Bhardwa
Hi, I’m Nikheil. I’m currently a Teaching Assistant at the Oakleigh Home Education HUB, where I support students in their learning and development. I also work three times a week at Kumon, a tutoring centre that supports children from nursery age up to sixth form.
I’ve gained a wide range of experience working with children over the years – from growing up with a childminder mum, to babysitting, to volunteering at a children’s dance class. Outside of work I enjoy playing football and basketball and I’m a big superhero fan!
What I love most about working with children is watching their progress. Seeing a child grow in confidence and ability and knowing I’ve played a part in that journey is incredibly rewarding.

Joanna Wilson
Hello, I’m Joanna! I have a degree in primary education with QTS from the University of Reading, specialising in Maths. I have 4 years teaching experience, mostly in EYFS and Key Stage 1, as well as a number of years experience supporting young people with additional needs. My favourite subjects to teach are Maths and Phonics.
I love the bespoke nature of home education and am excited to use my skills to help each individual flourish in a nurturing Christian environment.
I enjoy exploring new places with my husband, playing board games and being part of my local church in South London.

Clare Loftus
Hello, my name is Clare. I have been a teacher and tutor for many years, having graduated from the university of North London with a BEd (Hons). The early part of my career was in three different schools in Islington. I was deputy head teacher in one of these schools, which had a specialist provision for children with severe speech and language delay, which was a very rewarding role. Since having my three children, who are now all grown up (and taller than me!) I worked part time at St Paul’s CE Primary school in New Southgate and have also been a one to one tutor.
I enjoy cooking, travelling and spending time with my family. I also try to read regularly so that I have something to contribute at my local book club! I have loved my time at the Hub so far, where it feels like we are a happy family all working together to give the children the best possible education which they deserve.

Joyce Lai
Hello everyone - my name is Joyce. I am a Teaching Assistant with a genuine love for working with children. I give one-to-one SEN support as well as assist other children within the HUB as needed.
I have 8 years experience as a qualified nursery practitioner working in childcare settings. I find helping children grow in confidence, both academically and personally, brings me great joy and fulfilment. While supporting children, I also learn from them. They inspire me to keep improving my skills so that I can support them in the best way possible. I am committed to creating a caring and supportive environment where every child can thrive. I am grateful to be part of the children at the HUB's learning and development journey.
In my free time, I enjoy crafting, helping my church community and explore different places with my family.
